This policy explains how bjarnesList handles information for the British Columbia directory, including accounts and owner verification.

1. What we collect

Favorites, inquiries, vehicle posts, and contact notes stay in your browser (localStorage). Sign-in creates a real account (email and optional display name) and a session cookie. Claim and new real-estate posts send verification data to this app: your account id and email, the address you are claiming, Stripe Identity session id and pass/fail, and an encrypted tax notice or title file.

2. What we do not collect

We do not collect or store Social Insurance Numbers. We do not store driver's licence or passport images — Stripe Identity holds those and returns pass or fail. Do not paste a SIN into listing notes or the contact form. Public-record fill does not include owner names from the assessment roll. Owner IDs and tax documents are never copied into Notion.

3. How verification files are handled

Tax and title uploads are encrypted at rest, available only to the verification reviewer, used only to confirm ownership, and kept only as long as needed (target 90 days). We prefer Canadian data residency where practical (PIPEDA / B.C. PIPA).

4. Cookies and logs

Auth.js session cookies are used for sign-in and claim APIs. Hosting providers may log IP addresses. This site does not set advertising cookies.

5. Your choices

Sign out to end the session. Clear site data in your browser to delete favorites, inquiries, and vehicle posts on this device. Email contact@bjarneslist.com to ask about deleting a server-side account or claim file.

6. Children

The service is not for anyone under 18.
