bjarnesList is a British Columbia directory of properties that are not actively for sale, plus an optional vehicle post for members. This help page covers the current site.

How does bjarnesList work?

Properties appear as unclaimed public-record style listings. An owner can request to claim their place (Yelp/Google-style). Buyers browse, favorite, and inquire. A listing is never a promise to sell.

Is it free?

Yes. Browsing, favoriting, sign-in, inquiries, and posting a vehicle are free in this build.

Are these real properties?

Browse is filled from official Vancouver, Victoria, Saanich, Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Calgary, and Edmonton open-data files, plus Statistics Canada NAR addresses for the rest of B.C. after those municipal covers and for Calgary CMA, Edmonton CMA, and Okotoks CA suburbs (civic address; Vancouver/Victoria/Surrey/Calgary/Edmonton may include type and assessed values). They are unclaimed civic pins, not listings for sale, and not imported from realtor.ca, rew.ca, or any MLS. Member-posted vehicles live in your browser until a production backend is connected.

How do I claim a listing?

Go to /claim — that is the claim landing, not a waitlist. Search your address, or open a listing and choose Start owner verification. You need both (1) a photo ID + selfie via Stripe Identity — we store pass or fail, not the licence image — and (2) a property tax notice or title upload. We never collect a SIN. Local-group outreach and social posts are parked; they are not required to claim.

What do Unclaimed, Claimed, and Open to offer mean?

Every civic card starts Unclaimed. After both owner gates pass it becomes Claimed. The owner can then mark it Open to offer. Browse stays open either way.

What is the matching ladder?

On a listing: I'd buy if you ever sell (L1) records interest. On a claimed listing you can send a paid info request (L2 — the amount stays private) or a private soft offer (L3). The owner must approve before any dollar amount is published. Buyers verify a photo ID; owners still need the dual gate. Your watch list and owner decisions are on Account.

How do I contact an owner?

Sign in, open a listing, and send an inquiry. If the record is unclaimed, your note is stored as interest rather than a message to a named owner.
