bjarnesList is a British Columbia directory of properties that are not actively for sale. Members can still post their own homes and vehicles. To keep browse from sitting vacant, this site also shows unclaimed public-record fill from official municipal open data — not realtor inventory.

What you are looking at

Each civic record is marked unclaimed public-record fill. Vancouver and Victoria rows may show assessed values, never asking prices. Saanich, Burnaby, Coquitlam, and NAR pins are address-only. Surrey, Calgary, and Edmonton keep assessed values from the municipal listing when the open dataset includes them. There are no owner names, mailing lists, or realtor photographs. Card images, when a Maps key is set, are on-demand Google Street View or satellite stills — not scraped listing photos. Claiming a civic card uses Stripe Identity plus an encrypted tax or title upload. We do not collect a SIN, and we do not use assessment-roll owner names for outreach.

Record counts

• 2,961,998 listings on browse from open data (2,891,245 residential, 61,457 commercial, 9,296 industrial).
• Vancouver: 24,846 of 24,902 source rows after dropping 56 without a civic street. Filter: report_year=2026 AND zoning_classification IN ("Commercial","Industrial"). This is not the full ~229k residential roll.
• Victoria: 38,765 GENERAL-roll rows with a civic address. 33,698 SCHOOL duplicate rows and 22 address-less rows were omitted from 67,396 source rows.
• Saanich: 42,077 civic address pins (including 9,114 strata units) with lat/lng from the District catalogue. Address-only — no assessed values, no owner names. 2 border duplicates of Victoria were skipped.
• Statistics Canada NAR: 2,333,581 address pins (922,014 CRD kept, 1,411,567 rest of B.C.). Vancouver, Victoria, Saanich, the rest of the CRD, Surrey, Burnaby, and Coquitlam CSDs are excluded from the rest-of-B.C. pass.
• Surrey: 181,950 civic properties from the 2026 Property Detail Listing (address, PID, zoning, assessed land / improvement / total). Owner fields were stripped. 7,388 overlaps with existing inventory were skipped.
• Burnaby: 36,370 civic parcels from Legal Parcels (address, LTO PID, roll). Address-only — no assessed values, no owner names. 312 overlaps with existing inventory were skipped.
• Coquitlam: 68,980 civic properties from cadastral Property Information (address, unit, PID). Address-only — legal descriptions and owner names are not stored. 2,966 overlaps with existing inventory were skipped.
• Calgary: 418,441 civic parcels from Open Calgary parcel addresses, joined to current-year assessments for assessed value when the address matches. Owner names are not stored. Assessment polygons are not downloaded. 402,938 rows carry an assessed value.
• Edmonton: 389,832 civic properties from Property Assessment Data Current Calendar Year (address built from house number, street, and suite). Owner names are not stored. 389,798 rows carry an assessed value.
• Statistics Canada NAR (Alberta core): 277,095 address-only pins for Calgary CMA, Edmonton CMA, and Okotoks CA municipalities other than Calgary and Edmonton (those cities use the municipal fills). No owner names.

Statistics Canada National Address Register, June 2026. Licence: Statistics Canada Open Licence. CRD pins from the first NAR pass are kept. The rest-of-B.C. pass uses PROV_CODE=59 and excludes Vancouver, Victoria, Saanich, the full CRD CSD set, Surrey, Burnaby, and Coquitlam. Municipal sources are preferred where both exist. No owner fields.

City of Surrey Property Detail Listing 2026. Official spatial Feature Service from the City of Surrey Open Data catalogue (civic address, PID, zoning, assessed values, LATITUDE/LONGITUDE). Licence: Open Government Licence – City of Surrey. OWNER_TYPE and legal-description text are not stored.

City of Burnaby Legal Parcels. Official Legal Parcels layer from the City of Burnaby open-data portal (civic street, LTO PID, roll, WGS84 centroid). The Hub Address layer is house numbers only and is not the fill source. Licence: Open Government Licence – City of Burnaby. No owner names are stored.

City of Coquitlam Property Information (cadastral). Official cadastral Property Information layer (civic address, unit, PID, WGS84 centroid). Licence: Open Government Licence – City of Coquitlam. LEGALDESC is not requested or stored. No owner names are published on the public board.

City of Calgary Parcel Address + Current Year Property Assessments. Official Socrata extracts from Open Calgary (parcel address with latitude/longitude; current-year assessment attributes without polygons). Licence: Open Government Licence – City of Calgary. No owner fields are stored.

City of Edmonton Property Assessment Data Current Calendar Year. Official Socrata extract from Open Edmonton (house number, street, suite, neighbourhood, assessed value, tax class, latitude/longitude). Licence: Open Government Licence – City of Edmonton. No owner fields are stored.

Statistics Canada National Address Register, June 2026 (Alberta core). Licence: Statistics Canada Open Licence. Alberta core pass uses PROV_CODE=48 and keeps Calgary CMA, Edmonton CMA, and Okotoks CA census subdivisions, excluding Calgary and Edmonton CSDs already covered by municipal fills. Address-only. No owner fields.

What we did not use

Nothing was scraped from realtor.ca, rew.ca, MLS, BC Assessment Search, private Alberta assessment portals, or any realtor/broker site. City of Vancouver, City of Victoria, District of Saanich, City of Surrey, City of Burnaby, City of Coquitlam, City of Calgary, and City of Edmonton website HTML was not downloaded. The CRD MapServer Properties layer was not used. City crests are not used.

Imported 2026-09-13. Unclaimed civic fill from official open data. Not asking prices. No owner names. Vancouver is Commercial + Industrial zoning only. Victoria is the 2026 GENERAL assessment roll. Saanich is address-only civic points (no assessed values). Surrey is the 2026 Property Detail Listing. Burnaby is Legal Parcels. Coquitlam is cadastral Property Information. Statistics Canada NAR keeps CRD pins and the rest of B.C. after municipal covers. Calgary is Open Calgary parcel addresses joined to current-year assessment attributes (no polygons). Edmonton is Open Edmonton current-year assessments. Alberta NAR core adds Calgary CMA, Edmonton CMA, and Okotoks CA suburbs after those municipal covers.
